    Speculate! Speculate!

    Red face

Has anybody looked at the link off the front page to the guys who turned a Mac 128 into a Dozer PC? http://www.primotechnology.com/artic...04/mac2004.htm That's gotta be worse than turning a mac into a fishtank! Not happy, Jan!

Has anybody done, or know of, a retrofit on one of these using 'book bits so the whole thing still looks and works like a Mac? Maybe Appletalk Australia could get together with members finding/donating bits of some dead iBooks. (shop soiled G4s would be nice )

Nothing craps me off more than Dozers being called "modern", no matter what they are fitted with. They're still using an archaic, 1980s architecture inside those chips, a PPC RISC retrofit would be truly modern.

    Argh, I'm probably dreaming.
If it can be imagined, their is already porn based on it.

The Rudd/Conroy Internet Censorship Plan is political censorship.

They probably used x86 becaue they could find a MicroATX board to fit in the mac much easier than a PPC mainboard.... a MicroATX PPC board is around $1200, where as you can get a CPU and a Board for aroud $300 for x86 hardware.
meh, I've chosen to ignore it, it looks ugly with those stupid lights and cables everywhere.

If the case mod had a screen, it'd be much better. Unfortunately most classic mac --> PC hacks have been terrible - check the ones on www.mini-itx.com

doing a 'Book --> Classic Mac case would be something i'd be interested in.
    I agree that without a screen, it's a waste of a mod.

(if i'm wrong i'll take it back but...) Those ppl who did the "Machintosh 2004" are most likely waving their project about because it has an AMD in it. as in "oh look! it's better than those crappy Mac CPUs"... sorry, but i hate people hating something else for no good reason. i won't go on.
I'd rather be posting from an Apple //c
