edit: nevermind me, as Engadget points out:

last time we did this dance, the company previewed Snow Leopard about a year before it hit your screens
Also, as Lion is the biggest of the big cats, I wonder if they're acknowledging that OS XI is on the way...

Well I think it's clear what will be talked about. Be interesting what the new OSX will be like, or if the change the name to iOSX.

Laptop refresh incoming? It would have to be that's the day after I leave the US with a laptop-size credit limit ready to burn.

I'm glad they don't give a month's notice for these events, the suspense would kill me.

It's a shame that Oct 10th was a Sunday, else Apple could have announced X.10
It's better to burn out than it is to rust.

The lion is often referred to as "the king of cats". This is it, folks, the last incarnation of OSX. There will be no 10.8.

    Let's hope!
I'm hoping for a new MacBook Air!!!!!
Or at least a beefed up MBP 13!

Depending on availability though - I'm in San Francisco the first week of Nov... so like my iPad, I might be faster walking into an Apple store in the States rather than ordering online... will be great to see what they have in mind for us all!
mulitple iOS devices - iPhone, iPad Air, and iPod nano
    Mac OS X
    - 13 MacBook Pro with Retina, Mac mini for media server, and a Mac Book Air here somewhere still too

With the way the Aussie $ is going at the moment, you may get a pretty good deal by doing that.
