Best: Goldfinger..... Girl:"I'm Pussy Galore" Bond: "Of course you are"
Worst: Octopussy.....Saw it on Foxtel the other night in HD. I looked really, really weird. [Then Blues Brothers came on also in HD and look even weirder] Anyway Octopussy was just as awful as when I saw it in Hoyts Regent in Brisbane. Still remember the bomb threat that cleared the cinema half way through the movie. Had to go back in...it was BOND after all!..wish I hadn't!

The worst would have to be a close thing between Moonraker and View to a kill. Seriously, if Tanya Roberts had breathlessly cried out "James" one more time I would have been tempted to travel to America to make her pay for her crimes. Worst Bond girl eva. Considering that the movie also had Grace Jones in it, that is really saying something. And Roger Moore looked to be well on the way to fossilisation. The only good thing about View to a Kill was the Duran Duran theme song.

My fave is From Russia with Love, followed by You only live twice. Both Connery movies.

And I always had a soft spot for OHMSS.

I do not agree that the one with Christmas Jones was a bad one (The World is not enough) as it had Sophie Marceau in it, which deserves four stars on its own, and then Bond gets to kill her in cold blood. Awesome.

Yeah, A View To A Kill was pretty good. Christopher Walken, Grace Jones... and the Duran Duran titular song.

I don't think I've seen "Die Another Day" but I have to say I did like the Madonna song.

Of the older ones, The Man with the Golden Gun has always been my favorite (not just due to Britt Eckland) :-). Moonraker is easily the worst.

The two new Bond films (Daniel Craig) are both excellent.

Agree with both there. Watched Octopussy the same night, and it was rubbish - even the gadgets were crap. The amount of double-entendres, and latent racist and gay jokes made it a good laugh though

I like A View to a Kill but I really have to agree with you here. Every time I see the burning elevator scene I cringe and have to ignore my ears. You silly moll, do you really think you're just getting left behind to burn alive? Arrrrrgh

Funnily enough, Moonraker was my favourite as a child - James Bond in space. Now I hate it. I also liked The Spy Who Loved Me - but it was really the submarine Lotus I loved.

I remember watching From Russia With Love as a child and thinking it was crap - where are the COOL gadgets? Now the Connery films are amongst mt favourites.

Imagine On Her Majesty's Secret Service with Connery as Bond? We would probably consider the best of all.

My personal favourite ATM is Casino Royale, I thought partially rebooting the series (leaving Judi Dench it) was probably a good idea - there's so much baggage in the series stretching over 20 movies its hard to try and tie it all together.

I think you'll find that the letters on Govt agency stationery is OHMS which stands for "On Her Majesty's Service" - it's a pretty common acronym in Commonwealth Govt agencies. The OHMSS in the movie was actually a play on that acronym - I doubt it's really ever used.

Anyway, I liked OHMSS as a Bond movie. I think it's because I remember the skier falling into the snow plow thingy and the expelled snow turning all bloody - pretty memorable stuff for a 12 year-old, or however old I was at the time. It's kind of tame now, but back then it was awesome!

My least favourite would be Quantum of Solace. No story at all, confusing action sequences, no memorable characters.

Not far off would be any one of the Dalton Bonds, though. Take your pick. I just never warmed to TD as 007. Took the role far more seriously than the inherent cheese factor warranted. Pierce, on the other hand, never took himself seriously at all, which was wise, as his movies were more tongue-in-cheek than Connery's (possibly on a par with Moore's but constrained by PC).

Daniel Craig pouts too much for my liking but I did enjoy the darkness of Casino Royale (2006 version). So he's had one hit and one almighty miss as far as I'm concerned.

I know - a good one I really did see all the way through - but can't remember the name of it, was that one where at the very end, Bond screams out:
"We finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you. God damn you all to hell!" - and then the whole picture zooms out to reveal the Statue of Liberty sticking halfway out of the shoreline.

Anyone remember the name of that?

That wasn't Bond, that was Taylor (Charlton Heston).

EDIT Though it could have been Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis), not sure atm…

My favourite would be "Tomorrow never dies" with Pierce Brosnan. He is my favourite Bond!

TBH I didn't care for the new "casino Royale". Especially when he was in his super spy sports car for 2 minutes before rolling it.

I always wince when those beautiful cars get damaged. Remember Roger Moore blowing up his Aston in the first few minutes of For Your Eyes Only?

    Oh...
Well - it did have a lot of monkeys in it. I didn't question that.
I mean, it's all impossible (or if anyone should wanna be splicing hairs) - improbable - so I just watched it under this assumption.
