Default Write For MacTalk - Get an iPad. Enquire Within.

APPLICATIONS CLOSED, NOT TAKING ANY MORE SUBMISSIONS - THANKS EVERYONE!

<em><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-7984" title="ipad_keyboard_dock1" src="http://www.mactalk.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/ipad_keyboard_dock1.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="243" />Scenario: You want an iPad, but you can't afford it. You know your stuff when it comes to Apple and you love to write.</em>

Does this sound like you? If it does, MacTalk will buy you a 16GB 3G iPad in return for writing 16 articles for our blog. Write guides and tutorials about anything you like Apple related - explain stuff to people. Educate and inform Apple users with an Australian angle. You need to be able to commit to at least one article a week (2 in one week then a break in another is okay).

If you're interested, <a href="mailto:anthony.agius@mactalk.com.au">email me</a> with some examples of your writing prowess and technical knowledge (link to your best blog posts are ideal, or even links to forum posts where you've explained concepts to people). If there are no examples of writing, your email won't even be replied to. If you pass the initial <em>"can they spell?"</em> test, you will be required to write an article and if that article is good, an iPad is yours on the condition you write 15 more! The iPad will be given to you once that first article is submitted.

Wait, so you get the iPad after the 1st article? Don't you think there's a risk the author may not bother with the rest?

Well I've always wanted to be a "technology analyst/journalist". I already have an iPad but my Mrs would really love one...

If only I had writing talent, knowledge and experience...

My grammar, spelling and enunciation however, are superlative.

My problem would be coming up with 16 topics. I can think of 5-6 straight up that would be interesting but after that I wouldn't back myself to pull them out in time.

Thinking about it; I could write 16 opinion pieces... would that work?

Chances are nobody cares what you think (no-one really cares what I think on any given topic either if it's any consolation )

Anyhoo, I've had about 40 people reply and I can only pick 5!

Closing the applications now, so don't bother contacting me if you want to get the iPad. If you wanna write for free, sure, email away, hah

Suggestion: maybe have rewards for long-term writers? Like if someone has been on Mactalk for a year or two and has written 20 decent articles, they get an iPad or whatever?

Then it's win-win, they can write at their own pace, and you can judge all the articles before agreeing to hand out freebies.
