    Hi guys,

I have just set up my new Apple LCD (it's gooooorgeous). I also have the JBL creature speakers & sub on my desktop and was just wondering if the sub would interfere with the monitor at all if I place it behind it. I recall that it was not advised to place near my old CRT ...so I'm a little nervous putting it near my LCD until I know it's OK!

    Thanks,

    Macmelly

The subwoofer speaker has a driver that is essentially a magnet.
A CRT controls the electron beam using a magnetic loop.
Placing a strong magnet near a CRT can warp the image - sometime permanently.

The effect on an LCD screen should be practically nothing. Ideally, you would still place the sub on the floor to maximise the effect of the bass and reduce vibration.
