Is it possible to have an extended or continous desktop over the iBook LCD and another monitor on an iBook G3 (dual usb). can it be done with the iBook itself or is a third party app needed?

spilla you might be able to get a USB video-card but it will be expensive (and you will have to find one compatible with OS X) and would not be very fast. Honestly if you really need the extra screen space it would be worth you while to invest in a newer iBook/Powerbook.
