[i've just googled about this turns out this is a hack for it which i've now installed. but the weird things still is that i hadn't installed any hack at all. it just starting doing it by it's self.]

so i've had my ibook g4 for since about september last year. it's a 1.2ghz, with 256mb of ram and a 60 gig hard disk drive. 12 inch version. i usually connect a normal pc monitor to it so that i can have a better / bigger screen attached.

my questions is. i've just brought my computer out of hibernation and now it's doing what power books can do. the whole dual screen setup !

i would like to make this change perminant ?

    is this possible.

currently it's showing the normal computer monitor as the main screen with the dock attached, with the laptop side of things showing the part of it. i've just dragged the applications across and it's work just like a normal windows laptop does with dual screens.

can someone shed some light on this?

umm you've been able to do that since panther as far as i know.
go into system prefs/ displays then click on the arrangement tab.
you will see the white bar at the top of the left screen, drag it to the second screen you will find that everything will move to that display.
