Default Burning playable DVD from VIDEO_TS

In the past I have used Popcorn or Toast on my Dads computer to burn playable DVDs from VIDEO_TS

With my mac (which is newer & better), everytime Toast/Popcorn finish compressing the files and are ready to burn it just stops and says "preparing.." (like its preparing to burn but doesn't) and is just frozen like that & you have to force quit

I have a feeling it could be the blanks DVD's but not sure. Anyone got any other ideas? Any other programs i can get a hold of that will compress & burn VIDEO_TS to playable DVD?

    thankyou

there are a few programs which can burn Video_TS files to dvd such as liquid cd (free) if you want to convert the video from another format you may need to use a combination of tools. otherwise use something like FFmpegX to convert to Video_TS then burn with toast or liquid CD etc

Im talking like over 7 gigs. Liquid CD doesn't compress though, it will only burn a DVD from VIDEO_TS if it fits

As for Toast... refer to above

    Have a look at DVD2onex

I often use it in preference to toast.

Yeah, this is what I use and in my experience it does the best quality compression of any app...

If the file size is larger than the 4.3GB, then you can use the following steps in
    Toast

    1. Drag and drop the original Video_TS folder into Toast
    2. File -> Save as Disc Image
    3. When done, clear the Toast window of the original file
    4. Mount the completed disc image (filename.toast), grab the Video_TS folder inside and drop it into the Toast window
    5. Make sure the Fit-To-DVD option is ticked - located at the bottom left hand corner
    6. Burn

The reason for the thread is cos the OP wanted an alternative to Toast.
