    Default Animation for web help

    Hi,

I created a very simple animation in CS3 Photoshop- renders fine in all the previews etc as soon as I uploaded to the web-it turns to pixelated crappola.
I googled this and people recommended using Fireworks- so I re did the whole thing in FW and guess what same problem.
    It's an animated gif format.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    TIA

    Bluemist.

are you previewing in the browser or in Photoshop? Maybe your export settings need changing.

Is it the logo? GIF does not support alpha transparency, it won't be pixelated if you animated the image on a black background.

Not related to the problem but: don't have a splash page like that. Ever. Nobody wants to see it, and if they have to click it just to see something interesting they'll leave instead, making the rest of your website useless.

Get rid of it and have your front page be something more important: like an example of you best work with links to more examples of your best work.

    +1!

In relation to your problem, however, if you're going to have the image appear on a black background, make sure in the Save for Web thing in Photoshop, you select "Matte" then select "Black" from the drop down menu that appears.
