Default My iPhone 3G data sync cable is broken

The cable is coming apart from the usb end exposing wires. I haven't treated the cable rough and after only two months shouldn't have done that right? Will i be able to get a free replacement from where i bought it? Thanks for your help.

Probably not, they are pretty cheap anyway. Just buy a new one.

I'm pretty sure Apple would send a new one no questions asked. It's just a cable.

Take it to your nearest Apple reseller.

    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

Go through that, register for a repair or replacement. If it qualifies they'll send you a replacement by Aus Post, and you send the faulty one back. Easy as.

reseller wouldn't look at it sayin not allowed to touch anything to d with iphone got told to take back to optus. he did say however it would be covered under warrenty. the only this is i can't just do a warrenty claim on the net as i don't have a credit card. is there anyway i can get it fixed without actually using a credit card.

The phone company controls the warranty for the iPhone, not the reseller.

hey my cable is doing the same thing, maybe a manufacturing fault?

I've had problems with my sync cable too, the front of the housing is broken and the connector and wires keep coming out. Mine is pretty old, so I guess looking for a new one is my best bet.

There seems to be a zillion places to get a replacement cable (as referred to above), after some digging I'm going to try CableJive's duraSync. It's a bit more spendy, but looks durable and comes with a lifetime warranty.

i find apple usb cables quite poorly made. the main reason, why i choose a dock over the cable.
