The new MacBook uses Mini DisplayPort. There are no adapters in the box so you'll need to buy them.

I think you will need the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter for $45. Don't quote me on that though, as I have no experience with TVs.

Left side. It's Mini DisplayPort. You'll need adapters.

    Through DVI?

I didn't think DVI carried sound.

    Ok.

Thought you meant by "You've got audio in/out there" that it was all in the one cable.

You meant he would need another cable for the audio out then.

Yes, sorry about that. That is correct. A video solution and an audio solution, separately. I meant that in the image depicted above, there are separate audio in and out ports that you can use for audio.

    Not the one cable, unfortunately.

Make sure you pick up a an optical cable with Mini-TOSLink on one end. Standard optical cables don't play nicely with the integrated analogue/digital auido-out.

That's Toslink-Toslink, you need Toslink-Mini Toslink...OR an adaptor like this one:

EDIT: It seems that the adaptor is included with that purchase, see:
Included adapter connects any 3.5 mm optical digital audio jack to a Toslink jack--perfect for connecting Apple computers or AirPort Express to A/V receivers or TVs
    Go for it
