    Hi all,
I have connected a VGA monitor (can't afford to buy an LCD one right now) to my 17" powerbook when its at home, and today when I left for work, it was in sleep mode, so I shut the lid.

When I got home, it had woken up and there was a web page displayed on the screen. When I lifted the lid of the PowerBook, it was blank, nothing on it. I had to 'sleep' it then wake it back up and the screen came back. Is this normal?

I was under the impression that you can't use the PB when the lid's down??

    My system:
    17" PB G4 1.5ghz
    OS X Tiger (very cool!&#33.
The VGA monitor is just a crappy 19" screen that I used to use with the old PC.

    Thanks for any help.

    Glen

No, If you have an external mouse or input advice the powerbook will be awake if you activate it.

So you can just use the powerbook as a brain, and have an external monitor, keyboard and mouse.
What am I supposed to put in here?

    A joke maybe?

Having the power adapter plugged in should do it, and yes external USB devices while lid is closed should wake it up while an external display is plugged in.
