    Default Launch Application from Sleep

I want to fully Launch and Open an Application from iMac Sleep mode. In this instance it is a program called EventReminder. It is Ticked within the System Preferences-Login Items.

I have tried Automator (for the first time) without success. Doing something wrong most likely.

How would I go about achieving this action?

    Cheers

I think you will find that you can't have the iMac in sleep mode.

    Computer sleep: NO!

    Display sleep: Yes.

Well that is a pity as I mostly have the iMac in Sleep Mode.

I should say that you can wake the Mac out of sleep mode with system prefs settings, but I have not seen a way to launch an app after that.

Maybe you could wake the Mac out of sleep mode with system prefs settings, then 1 minute later have iCal trigger your app.

You can use an alarm program called Awaken to set an alarm for that program to open at a specified time. It has a setting built-in that wakes the computer from sleep if needed.

Well recommended i use it to start my downloads every night once off-peak time sets in

I have an old copy of Aurora when it used to be freeware. Using that you can wake your mac up from sleep at a pre-set time and launch an application (as well as get iTunes playing a certain playlist).

PM me if you want me to find where I put the dmg of it.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I am trialling another birthday reminder program call Birthday Buzzer and even though this is shareware as opposed to EventReminder which is donation ware, so far I am preferring Birthday Buzzer.

I know iCal can do these alarms but these 3rd party programs do it better. BB even shows the number of days left till the next birthday on the dock icon.

    Cheers for help.
