Mobile plans do my head in. It looks like the $59 cap plan will be the best one for me. I use medium calls, medium text and are likely to spend a lot of time on the internet. Would I be better off with the $59 yes plan instead?

If I understand the plan correctly, on a $19 plan on a 12 year control the TCO (including handset repayments) is $816. On NeoRicen's analysis that is the cheapest in the world so far.

All looks pretty reasonable... except for the inability to add extra data allowance.

Like the free Optus Wifi, but it's only useful to me when I'm in the CBD... which is only once/twice a week at best.

And the wifi has a cancellation clause that's interesting:
They will cancel the service if "there is an unusually high use of the Service"

So if it goes really well, no more WiFi???? Bizzare!

Not too bad, hopefully Optus will expand this though. And one close enough for my lunch break, beautiful.

Is it just me or do you need an astrophysicist to explain those plans?

I can't see how the Yes Plans are better than the Yes Caps though.... why would you take lesser allowance (seriously)?

    Yay!
The $89 Plan with a free 16GB iPhone 3G on a 2 yr contract looks good to me.

Well I'm dumbfounded. I really thought we were going to get screwed with the plans, but this actually looks pretty good. No idea which plan to choose though.

Can someone clarify the "handset repayments"? Those are only applicable if you pay nothing for the iPhone up front, correct?

Yeah, you need to pay them monthly for the handset unless you are bringing your own iPhone or are paying for it outright.

    no prepaid which surprises me.

I have to see if they'll let me bundle into my internet and foxtel account. if they do a credit check neither wife or i can get a phone (we were stupid when 18). so it's prepay or add to acct.
