    Default MSN or the like

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that there is a program that some people use which has msn and yahoo chat etc all rolled into one?

What is it or what options are out their that are like MSN but are better?

Adium is what I use too, but now I use Mercury IM because it, unlike Adium, supports video and Audio with MSN. Otherwise, Adium is probably better for stability.

You can get skins and stuff from Adium - Xtras - Home

If you wanna try the Apple-Purist way, you could try setting iChat up with a load of Jabber transports (eg: at netlab.cz or jabber.linuxlovers.at) but if you want something that works just out of the box with MSN and Yahoo, get Adium.

Does Skype work through any third party products, even just the chat interface? My company has recently gone on a Skype fad, but I don't much like the Mac application for home.

The Mac version and the Windows version are practically identical (if anything the Skype version is better).

Unfortunately, Skype is a closed protocol and no other applications support Skype, not even for text chat
