    Default iChat Grief

    Ok... help please!!
(got my head smacking against on wall on this one)

I recently changed ISPs and since that time my ichat has been gimped - no audio or video.

so I thought it was something the my ISP was doing.

today I bought home my MBP from work... and it has no problem with iChat...
I have checked the config... and as far as I can tell it is the same on both of them....

    both computers are running 10.5.2
    fully patched...
    running latest version of everything....
    firewall off

the iMac has internet sharing on.... so the MBP can share
I am not using a router.. straight into the modem... (via ethernet out the back of the iMac)

anyone got any ideas why iChat is working via internet sharing.. and not working on the main machine

any tips tricks help much appreciated.

    cheers

ok I've had a similar problem in that my iMac stopped working with ichat after a recent upgrade, so I've tried everything from modem firmware, port forwarding, changing settings on my airport extreme - but no go. Put it down to my modem or ISP, but then brought a MacBook pro home running leopard and in connected to my airport, modem, ISP and worked straight away. The iMac is still on tiger, but it used to work fine until recently. I can see buddies but I can't accept calls. Text-talking works though. So what is open DNS exactly - saw their website but what does it do exactly?
If God doesn't believe in you, does that mean you don't exist?
