I'm hoping the mac pro gets bumped also, I ordered mine last week and it's just now moved to "Prepared for shipment" but with a shipping date of 06/11

Price drop would be nice.... What's the exchange rate now? Almost 93cents I think. The closer we get to dollar parity, the bigger the Apple Australia tax becomes...

What were you expecting considering it's only been a bit over 4 months since the last major update?

I hope the new MBP options make the line eligible for a price reassessment (e.g. cheaper because of the strength of the AUD)

either better prices or better specs would be a welcome change!!

i wonder how long it will be till a pro computer (either macbook pro or mac pro) have the option of a blue-ray drive. I mean if your using hi-def video, it would be nice to burn to that.

Exactly. They're running a beautiful Vid card, LED screens etc. This is more of a "because we can" than anything else.

But to be honest, I quite like that Apple is being proactive rather than just sitting on its haunches.

I thought those EA games ported to the Mac ran like dogs (badly ported over).

Better to run in Boot Camp, maybe VMWare or Parallels will be able to run those games in Windows ok. I wouldn't know.

This is looking like a good run to the Mac Pro refresh on the 13th / 14th.

No major portable announcement till Macworld 08 now.

Unless they do something bizzare with Apple TV, I can't think of anything else left. (thank god).

When do you guys think they will update the AU store with prices?

This is a very strange time for an update - Apple seem to be mixing it up lately

The Australian MacBook page is up. Starting at $1599. It doesn't appear that there's any price drop sadly

Not sure about no price drop. The store hasn't been updated yet.

Yup. We're waiting to see the store update first. Still no SR MB's in there.

I'd predict a price drop of a couple of hundred. They reflected it with Leopard.

But the 'Buy now' page is updated and the prices haven't dropped.

[edit: oops, that page is part of the store, which still has 2.16 et al... my bad!]
