    Hi,

    One of my friend sent me a movie and it was named
    PART1.toast Can anyone tell me is it safe for me to
    open such files on mac ? and what application do i need
    to open 'em.
    (guess this is a silly question )

    they are safe.
    its for the application called "toast".its a cd burning app
    the finder can mount them aswell

    yup you will.
    the finder can mount them but im not sure if its only after you install toast.

    what if there is an application on a similar .toast file ?
    does the same apply

    tintin200 .toast are a variation on .iso like a .dmg . Its a file that is an image of a disk that you can either mount as a virtual drive or burn to CD/DVD and install.
