Default Concept Tonberry: iPhone Media Controller

    Introducing Concept Tonberry.

    http://www.blargsoft.com/tonberry/

Not that it makes a huge impact on us, since we can't get an iPhone, but i started throwing this together a few days ago, and I thought some people might be interested in it.

Ration is going great guns. I'll have a new build for current testers this weekend, and hope to expand the beta to new testers in the next week or two.

    I'll let you know.

Probably because I put it up at 1am last night.

It's basically a glorified media controller. Think salling clicker for the iPhone.

While the concept sounds cool i have to question how useful it would be.
With the 3rd party app limitations communication would be over the internet which is a very big downside straight away. Then each system would need a client of some kind.
Seems like a very long way to go for a media controller

Not really. You have wi-fi for use on your local network. A client runs on your Mac which is a small webserver. You connect using a specified port to your IP (also supports bonjour), and away you go.

It also works really well with other mobile platforms. I have been testing it with my PSP as well as Safari on a Mac, and it's great for people like me who have their whole entertainment centre as a mac (hooked up to a projector).

I should probably finish it for the Mac first, but you know me - i'm much more likely to get sidetracked.
