    This just isn't fair!
    First all the hype...
Then he teased us by showing it...
then they clam up and not tease us at all...
and now that it is being released in the States...

my desire to have one is exponentially increasing!!!!

yet still no official word if we will ever see them
Let's hope they don't end up in the same category as official Photo Books

    think of it this way... when it does come to australia in 2008, consider the following;

    - we will have a more later version of the firmware, software, AND hardware!
    - and we will have it on a different network infrastructure

Don't you mean IF it comes to Australia?
Apart from the line of "Europe late 2007, and Asia in 2008" I haven't heard any official line saying we will necessarily be getting it yet?

Man, I wish I could get my hands on this phone in July! Oh well, hopefully we get it the same time as Asia otherwise I will be very disappointed.

I want an oompa loompa NOW daddy.

Seriously, the phone looks awesome and as much as I'd love one to pop into my hands now, you can bet we will benefit by receiving the later revision model. If indeed we get them at all.

The news that the 'Requires 2 year subscription' clause has been removed from all the adverts sure does make things more interesting. Sure, it could be that Apple just wants to keep things more secret regarding the contract, or it could be that Apple has something more interesting instore.

Apple's PR guy has informed me that Asia includes Australia. And yes, hopefully it'll be 3G (and maybe even 16GB) by the time it gets here!

That sounds really good. But to be honest surfing on the phone like that seems like a pain to do. If they had an RSS feed button that just lists the top stories would be better.

I know my brother is getting one first day it comes out in America. I only wish I was in his position.

I currently have a friend living in the States... and another going over in July for a business trip.

Maybe its worth looking into the fine print of the contracts after they are released to see if it is viable to buy one from USA?

I might have to look into it....
    AT&T branding only?
Obviously some of the features won't work here - like the visual voicemail... but anyone got any ideas / thoughts?

My thoughts exactly but on another thread. I'll buy in at 5.0 minimum.

In regards to browsing the internet with your mobile, well, for me it's not a device limitation (though the iPhone appears to make the experience better) but the actual cost. We need an all you can eat "fair use" plan.
