    Default converting flv files from youtube into avi / mpeg

    Can someone recommend an easy and free mac program for this? I really need to save some youtube vids on my powerbook.

    Disko is right that is good, you should really pay them more :P

    perhaps you can try ffmpeg?

    PodTube is really good and its only about $6 Australian. I purchased it and have found it really good

    This little app may be worth a look:

    FLVR 0.9

    Puts an extra button in Safari, which you click and a pop down menu appears. Select the video, then the app downloads it and converts to MP4 at the same time. Easy to use and elegant, but is shareware.

    i use a program called isquint, im pretty sure its free

    I use iSquint also, with the activity window in safari, works well (and does more than just one thing, which is what i like in an app)

    I just use this website- http://vixy.net/ to download youtube videos, straight to the format I like.
