When I go into Parallels and ask it to update, it says I have the up to date version

And to think that I only just updated to 3170. I'll have to try an Ubuntu VM in it.

Can anyone confirm that the install key from previous versions will work with this new download?

I really have to wonder why Parallels don't use Bittorrent to distribute it now, since it's so popular.

A lot of people have no idea how to use BitTorrent and many corporate/school networks block BT traffic
Clicking a nice big DOWNLOAD button is far easier.

Parallels owners are hosting downloads for the updated version. You can download it from:-

Including myself. I have a vague idea, but isn't it used manly for warez and videos?

Downloading at a whooping 16k a second. Methinks paralells servers are getting hammered (I also recall back to dialup days when 4kbps was lightning fast....ah well)

bartron - i believe they also cap download rates - never had higher than 30 kb/s from them.

I've had 6-7 failed download attempts - their server is obviously #$@%ed at the moment, since at my end it said that the download had finished. 57.4MB in 16 seconds from a server that's maxing out at 20KBps doesn't sound likely.

I just managed to get it downloaded after having it fail a lot yesterday. The US has finished the working day so there should be a better chance of getting it from the official site now. Now all I have to do is back up all my stuff and risk installing it.
