    Default "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac, I'm a Vaio"

Sony is running a campaign for its VAIO C series of computers using PC guy and Mac guy that we all know from Apple's ads but they have added VAIO girl.

You can see part of the campaign on Sony's web site http://www.sony.com.au/article.jsp?id=3861&ref=vaioc

True, I remember seeing this as well I think it's really a 'dull' campaign which they can't do properly.

    "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac, I'm a Vaio!"

No...you're a PC. Get over it.

Cute.... I have to admit that the VAIOs are quite good looking, but lack the simplicity of the 'books.

When your competitor has a superior product it's best not to draw attention to it!

With a PC there is no beauty.

With a Vaio, the beauty is only skin deep.

With a Mac, you have a beautiful relationship that will last.

The message as I see it:

"I'm a PC. Don't touch my arse or it might go off."

"I'm a Mac. It's not exactly cool to touch my arse but I'll give you a friendly 'HEY!' because I don't like to cause trouble. Mind you, you won't get any further unless you have the right credencials."

"I'm a VIAO. Grab my tosh, like, as much as you want because I'm, like, gorgeous. If you take me home I'll show you my tattoo "

Sony won't be able to truly differentiate themselves from the rest of the PC market until they get rid of Windows (fat chance).

Imagine the skinny Vaio girl suddenly rip in half to have another PC guy inside. Only skin deep.

Are Apple and Sony kinda friendly? I recall Steve mentioning the Sony Bravia TV during the intel mac mini launch.

And Apple using the Sony HDV camera to demonstrate iMovie HD also.

They're quite happy to have their products advertised by other companies (i.e. Apple) whereas simultaneously backstabbing those companies (i.e. this ad campaign & suing Apple over the concept of the MP3 Player [which Apple won thankfully])
