My computer is USB 1.0 and I know Ipod Mini's work on USB 2.0 Languages. I was wondering if mabye there are USB 1.0 Ipod Mini's!?????? Or if not, would I be able to use a USB Converter to convert or would the speed be too slow and the Ipod Mini would not work!???????
    I seriously need help!!!!!!!

I thought that usb was backward compatible eg. if you got a mini it would work on usb 1.0 but just be slower as it would also run at usb 1.0 speed. I put a 6 port usb2.0 card in my dads computer a year ago and that was $50 new. If your really worried it shouldn't be too hard to put in some usb2.0 ports(depending on your computer)

The USB 2.0 Card will save you heaps of time. Well worth it, I say.

If you're going to buy a new card, don't get a USB 2.0 card. Get a FireWire one, as FireWire is faster than USB 2.0. For around $50 you can get a card that has USB 2.0 and FireWire on it, so you can use both.

    usb 2.0 is 480mbp/s
    firwire is 400mbp/s

just wanted to clear that up decryption

it would seem that usb would be fatser but as decryption said firewire is infact faster.
the usb chipsets cant handle the speed while the firewire chips can
