I've set up iChat for Jabber and have been using it happily for a while.

A friend has just set up a GoogleTalk account.

I'm sure I should be able to add him to my iChat Jabber buddy list really easily, but I just can't figure out how to do it.

GoogleTalk's FAQ only seems to have instructions for logging into iChat with a GT account.

GoogleTalk uses the Jabber/XMPP protocol and is now federated with numerous other Jabber servers. As long as the Jabber server you are using is one of these you shouldn't have any problems.

To add a GoogleTalk contact to iChat, simply add the person's GoogleTalk ID to your Address Book in the Jabber field. Then in iChat add that person to your buddy list in the "Jabber List" window.

Thanks for that. Just waiting for the friend to authorise now.
