    Out of curiousity, what is the max res the radeon mobility 9700 can do? say on an external screen? i.e. can i go max res on the 30" cinema display?

    if your powerbook supports dual link dvi then yes you can go full res on a 30"

    I was under the impression that none of the G4 powerbooks were able to drive a 30" display.

    thats what i want to know if it does or not curious to see what the max the mobility radeon 9700 can do (64mb)

    it was an option on 15" models at one stage and is standard on current model 17" G4 powerbooks

    If you added the 128 video card ram with Dual DVI then yes they can. The 17inch came standard with it and you had to add it as an extra to the 12 and 15inch models with revision of Aluminium powerbooks before this current one.
