    Default Not Eligible for Requested Build

    I have an iPhone 4G that I wish to end on to my mother however it has 'Find My iPhone' turned on and it is using an email account [Netspace] that I no longer have access to.

    I contacted Apple Support and they told me to put it into Recovery Mode and to do a Restore and Update.

    When I did this I receive the error - 'iPhone Not Eligible for Requested Build'. I clicked More Info and it said my error would be one of -
    * a Host file error. It wasn't
    * an IP Firewall issue. I don't use a firewall
    * try using another computer. Same error

    Any help appreciated as my mum needs a phone that has the Accessibilty options as she has poor sight. Thank you.

    Make sure that you are on the latest version of iTunes, but also keep in mind that if the phone is an iPhone 4 the maximum iOS version is 7.1.2 which is no longer signed by Apple.

    Did you disable Find my iPhone prior to doing the reset?
