Go here to Apple Aus, pay the $25 and get the download key and information. Lion was never a free download.
OS X Lion (10.7) - Apple Store (Australia)
I have an old white Macbook 2,1 that is running the latest version of 10.6, and I want to download the Lion installer.
Problem is I'm clicking the download link in the App Store in my 'Purchases' tab on the Macbook, but nothing is happening.
Is there another place where I can download the Lion installer from?

I've already paid for it, but the download link doesn't work.

I'd be ringing Apple I think. Can't imagine anyone else is going to be able to help.
I have a copy still on disk, if you want me to send it to you on USB send me a PM. It is 3.76GB file
I've just tried downloading it from Yosemite, it give me a warning that I have a newer version installed but looks like it will download anyway:
Give it a go on another machine.
Many Shiny Toys with Apple Logos | Some Microsoft Toys too
If it has an engine or a heartbeat it's going to cost you.
Drive a VW?
Doesn't let me 'continue' on Yosemite, I have another computer with 10.9, I'll give that a go.
Thanks
Did it on another MBP that has 10.9 and I got that message. It is currently downloading !
Thanks for all the help guys!
Use LionDiskMaker to make a bootable USB thumb drive. 4GB thumb drive, and download from this link (version 1.7 down the page a bit for Lion).
What is DiskMaker X ?
