    Default failing graphics macbook pro

Hi, looking for some tech help here with anyone running a 27inch thunderbolt display but using the integrated graphics on their macbook pro not the discrete card. i have a early 2011 15inch Macbook Pro with the AMD 6490M chip and its causing a lot of garbage to be displayed on the screen. If i disconnect screen and use laptop screen with intel its fine, switch to AMD and it goes all screwy.

any help to run this screen with the intel graphics would be great

You can't run an external display with the Intel graphics, it's simply not supported.

Take it to the Genius Bar for them to have a look at your machine, but if it it's out of warranty then be prepared for a large repair bill.

Make a big deal about consumer protection and statutory warranty. Should get it repaired free.

Unfortunately 2011 MBP has a bit of a reputation for graphics card problems. Hopefully Apple comes to the party and offers a replacement program similar to what happened with 2010 and 2007 MBPs suffering graphics card failure.
    15" MBP, 2.2Ghz C2D, OS X 10.6.8 and still snappy.
