Default Mail doesn't sync status, ipad & iPhone do

    Hey all,
My iMac is running 10.7.5. The ip4 & iPad 3 are both running 6.1.3.

If I read mail on either mobile devices it syncs across the two so whichever I pick up I know which ones I've read. The iMac on the other hand shows everything as unread. I have to click through them all to have them mark correctly.

Do I just have a setting to change or may there be a wee gremlin?

I didn't even know that was an option. I receive emails on an iPhone, ipad and Mac and just accept that I have to mark each device as read. Is it an iCloud account that syncs between your two idevices?

I don't have an answer but I've just checked it out and it works fine across my mac, iPhone and ipad using the iCloud account. its good to know but I only use the icloud account as my apple ID not as an actual email address.

Normally IMAP email accounts will sync read status across devices, which is what iCloud is based on.

I'd suggest removing and re-adding the email address to Mail.app, swoffa.

It's the same account used across the devices. Odd that the two mobile units are in sync with each other but the desk bound workhorse (of the three) is the one not playing ball.
