    Default Finder Won't Open

I am running Mountain Lion on a 2011 iMac and all of a sudden - when I click on the Finder Dock icon - nothing happens.
    Nothing opens.

Check that you don't have another Finder window open in another space or something, I know that clicking on the dock icon to open a new Finder window doesn't work if you already have a window open.
