I watched some. Was it just me or did the stage look like a giant iPad?

Israel should have been in the final. San Marino as well. Such oversight.

I agree that the general standard was a bit better this year than in some recent years.

Poor Norway getting the wooden spoon (for the final at least)...you're in esteemed company there! I couldn't stand Sweden. The singer's silly writhing incensed me to no end... I had to turn it off when it was clear that she'd won. Italy's singer was Amy Winehouse minus the crack and booze!

Personally I loved France this year. It was a great song and should've been in the top 5, but most of Europe hates France (and the UK) so there's no way they will ever get the votes they deserve (when they deserve it). Their insistance on singing in French also doesn't help their cause. Invariably it's always songs sung in English that win, unfortunately.

It seems the voting public have pretty poor taste and tend to fall for cheap tricks...just look at Russia getting second place for evidence of that. But it's the cheap tricks that are part of what make Eurovision fun I guess. Every year I watch it and every year I say to myself I won't watch it again because of the overdose of cheap superficial pop and rigged/bloc voting system, but by the time the next one rolls around I've forgiven the silly Europeans and get caught up in Eurovision mania! C'est la vie!

SBS did another fantastic job this year. I loved the opportunity to vote on the songs and the twitter comments on the screen were hilarious...just brilliant!

And yes it IS a giant iPad!

Yes I told everyone that the stage was a giant iPad!

Oh yes I forgot to add France to my favourites list, I was annoyed at Russia for doing so well as even though they were cute they could not sing to save their lives and it is the eurovision song contest, not the Eurovision cute contest. Italy's singer looked and sounded like that way before Amy wine house any way. Italy was my favourite because I thought she sand well, was classy and had great music.

Oh I loved Italy too...my comment was intended as a compliment! I didn't know that she'd been around for a while.

Good to see Italy back in the competition again after so long.

I know, I was Just saying, Nina Zilli posted it on her Facebook page, She was born 3 years before Amy Winehouse and she said that shes been around since the early 2000's, which is apparently longer than Amy Winehouse

Finland's entry is absolutely dreadful, and that's coming from a big fan of Finland and its people. It's just too Swedish and happy.

The German one sounds like Euphoria.......

Funny thing is that I am still listening to Out of Love by Nina Zilli , La La Love by Ivi, Unbreakable by sinplus and standing still by Roman Lob :P

I'm trying not to listen to many of them because it ruins it a little for me :P
The best thing is that Jedward are not returning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HORAY

I have thus far restrained myself from ruining the rest of the songs by listening to them early!!

I watched it for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. Purchased the soundtrack from iTunes. Will definitely watch it again this year. My Father was half Greek & half French so that is where my loyalties are.

    ONE WEEK TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've slightly ruined the surprise by watching Ireland, Finland and Germany........

Cascada's song is a rip off of Euphoria (Loreen) and Don't you worry child (SHM)
