HI, I'm new to the Mac world. I want to get a PB G4 15", but I'm still quite confused by the airport products. The question is, if I want to use the wireless network provided by the Flinders Uni(when I am in Uni.). do I need to buy any other things(like airport extreme station)? or a PB G4 with built-in airport extreme is enough for that?

No - Powerbooks come with Airport Extreme cards built-in. And that's all you need to get on to the Uni wireless network, although have an (informed) chat with the IT people there to ensure that you have all the relevant settings to access it.

But you would need to purchase an Airport Extreme card separately if you buy an iBook.

I've got a friend who uses her 12" powerbook around flinders as is. Works fine.

    You'll enjoy it.

Yep! my university requires you to do some proxy settups, but that is simple and intuitive to do. Enjoy the wireless freedom!

    Quamen:

LOL! I understand your predicament. I was still in RMIT when they deploy their disasterous student admin system. The horrific experience with the infrastructure is the only reason I am doing my masters now at melbourne university
