Early this morning Apple announced tickets for WWDC 2012 were available, and they sold out in under two hours. WWDC 2012 will take place from June 11 to 15, with a focus on iOS and the OS X. There's not really that much that we expect so far: a Mountain Lion announcement, a future iOS release, one new piece of hardware, maybe, but that's pretty much it.

Apple has posted their Q2 2012 financial results, and MacStories has the full break down (with enough graphs to rival even Asymco, might I add). The long and the short of it goes like this: $39.2 billion in revenue, 11.8 million iPads, 35.1 million iPhones, and 4 million Macs for $11.6 billion in profit.

Apple are all set to unveil another retail store in our own backyard, according to PerthNow. They have it on good confidence that the store will be located in South Perth, or in the Garden City shopping complex. Renovations have already begun on the stores in question, according to our own forum thread on the topic.

Apple has defended their use of the 4G moniker in Australian courts, saying that despite the ipad only working on 3G networks here in Australia, the speeds at which it operates on those 3G networks is in accordance with the accepted descriptor of 4G. That is to say, Apple thinks Australian 3G networks are currently good enough to be called 4G ones.

Apple wants to go to trial to defend allegations of ebook price-fixing, the company’s lawyer told a US court on Wednesday.

Apple is currently embroiled in a lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice that claims the company colluded with publishers to hike the price of ebooks sold on the iBookstore, in an attempt to break Amazon’s monopoly on the market.

Apple's next iPhone will have the glass replaced with Liquidmetal, or so rumours claim. Korea IT News says the back of the next iPhone will be all metal, like the current iPod touch, except made of Liquidmetal, a metal that we've already seen in the SIM card eject tool but nothing else. Curious, especially seeing as Apple purchased exclusive rights to the technology in 2010.

Apple has removed the iWork and Aperture trials from their website, meaning you can no longer download fully-functioning demo versions of the software. Instead, the demo pages now redirect you to purchase the apps on the Mac App Store, which tells us one of three things. One, Apple finally found out about that easy iWork hack. Two, iWork and Aperture are due to be updated soon. And finally, three, the most ...

Intel has laid out a roadmap for rich displays in 2013, meaning that high pixel density displays will be coming to common PC hardware in the very near future. You can also bet any amount of money that retina displays Macs won't be very far off, with the proposed roadmap spelling out desktop displays 220ppi, laptops at 250ppi, and mobile/tablets at over 300ppi.

2013 is also the year of the Apple television set, according ...
