Karateka for iOS is a remake of the 1984 game of the same name and true to the original you play an unnamed hero who, as Princess Mariko's true love, must fight his way into Akuma's fortress to rescue her from his nefarious clutches.

Before I dig into the review itself, I want to take a moment to talk about the man behind Karateka: Jordan Mechner. You may not recognise the name, but if you're a PC/Mac gamer of a similar vintage to myself, you'll most certainly have played his most successful games: Prince of Persia, Prince of Persia 2 and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. If you're interested in the history of Karateka, Prince of ...

Ever since we bought our first (over priced but available a month early!) iPad off of eBay in 2010, my lovely fiancé, Fiona and I have slowly but surely moved away from using a laptop or desktop outside of work.

Like most iPad users we use it for everything from reading the news to paying our bills. And thanks to apps like BBC iPlayer and ABC iView we've cut the cord so to speak and have been living without Foxtel or Free to Air TV for over a year.

A little Christmas article by Ben's wife Renée:

Image courtesy of the Australia Post website

Earlier this year Australia Post launched a 3 month trial of their 24/7 Parcel Locker service in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and have since expanded it to Perth, Canberra and a number of other NSW and Victorian locations. They're not stopping there though and, at the time of writing, have announced a bunch of new locations that should be ready prior to Christmas. A complete list of current and planned locations is available on the AusPost Parcel Locker F.A.Q. page. ...

    Digital Video Game Stocking Stuffers

Long before Apple started ditching the optical drive, PC game distribution went digital with Valve Software's online service, Steam. Every year they run a holiday sale for 2 or 3 weeks around Christmas where they discount their entire catalog. With older games and indie titles often dropping down under $5 and $10 you'll also be able to find plenty of stocking stuffers on Steam!

Another great digital delivery service that's added support for Mac games (486 ...

If you're like me, you love your MacBook Air/Pro dearly, you use it every single day at home and you wish desperately that you could use it at work as well...but there are a bunch of Windows only applications and a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) or Managed Operating Environment (MOE) that your employer requires you to use.
