• Hey....you....wanna know a secret? Come in closer...closer....ok....*whispers* Apple is holding an iPod event on September 9th! Whaaat...you already knew? Oh...right...it's just one of the biggest tech 'secrets' around. However Apple have just confirmed it. Apparently they will be updating the iPod range and possibly we'll see iTunes 9 with increased social networking support and possibly a way to control apps on the iPhone. Multiple sources say that we won't be seeing the ablet-Tay (I swore I wouldn't say Tablet...ah crap!).

So I don't know who your favourite Apple analyst is but mine is Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray (he's dreamy!!!!). Gene has come forward saying that the iPhone is very successful primarily due to the fact that it is considered the gold standard by both critics and rivals. This attempt at emulation only draws people to enjoy the superior user experience that the iPhone offers. He also believes that we'll soon be seeing a subscription based TV service for iTunes....exciting stuff!!!

So News.com.au had their annual Tech Style Awards 2009. Guess what awesome product won? You're never gonna guess. Fine i'll tell you...it was the Zune! No wait...iPhone 3GS...crap I can't believe I messed that up.

Want some amazingly cool Apple news? Well of course you do cause you're reading the MacTalk Tuesday Morning News. Grand Theft Auto....the game that allows you to go around killing old people, cops and small children without feeling guilty is coming to the iPhone. Originally a DS game the game is going to begin its long journey to be ported to the iPhone.

When I first installed Snow Leopard on my ageing 2007 white MacBook (there will be a collection passed around for the "get Raffe an awesomely sexy unibody MacBook Pro" fund and I encourage you all to donate) I found that I gained about 10GB of space. My first reaction was "oh crap my porn!" and when I saw that it was all there I began to wonder. Turns out that most of the space regained isn't because of printer drivers and the tightening of code (though that is a big part of it) but rather because Snow Leopard is calculating space differently. So its math...not magic.

Speaking of Snow Leopard some of the system preferences have been changed. Have a look here to see what changed and where everything is in the new Snow Leopard preferences.

Wanna know something pretty bleeding obvious? Turns out that the iPhone app store is doing better than the Android app store. Yeah I know...except now we have an impressive report to prove it to all our Android-loving friends (it has graphs and big words).

Speaking of app stores. Samsung is launching their own for their phones. Have a look at how impressive the 'coming soon' font is.

So apparently some iPhone is France are exploding (like those Frenchies didn't deserve it) and people are all like 'blame Apple' but Apple has come back saying 'WTF guys...totally aint out fault". I guess Apple is hoping that the French will do what they always do and retreat.
