They're elusive and no one really knows if they exist. Like the fabled Big Foot, Leprechaun and *sober Irishman the Apple Ninja very rarely is seen in the light of day. However one family is dangerously close to waking up in a coma! Apple is doing everything they can in order to silence a British girl and her father over an exploding iPod. Methinks that soon the father will wake up to discover a Trojan Horse's head in his bed.
Remember how Apple and Google were all like "you and me against M$ bro!" and in honour of that they put the Google CEO Eric Schmidt on the Apple board. Well apparently with Apple and Google now increasingly in competition with each other (Android/iPhone, Chrome OS/OS X etc) Schmidt had to keep recusing himself from the Board room. It was a mutually exclusive idea for Schmidt to resign. Here is the Apple press release in all its spin glory
The Apple Tablet (iTablet, TabBook Pro?) has not only been heard about it has been seen and touched. According to one analyst it gives "a better than the average movie experience, when you hold this thing in your hands". Everyone seems to be convinced that it's coming however they only appear to be in disagreement over the date. Some say it will be during the annual September iPod launch and others say it will be in Q1 2010. Whatever happens this intrepid reporter (am I reporter? Can I put that on my CV? Must ask Anthony) will be there to copy and paste the news links for you.
The Apple Tablet is making the rest of the industry so nervous that they are putting all of their Tablet ideas on hold until this thing has been announced. Because you don't want to spend millions of dollars in time and manpower just to launch something only to have it eclipsed by Apple. Companies are getting smarter it seems.
Like the Apple App store? Wish there was one for OS X? Well IDFusion is launching Bodega, which is essentially an App Store for OS X (yay). They have 150 apps available on launch and more are coming. Apparently not only was Apple aware of this store but they have been continually updated on its progress. Guess that means that there's not going to be an iTunes App Store for OS X any time soon.
Snow Leopard was available for pre-order on Amazon a few days ago. It is now the top pre-order. Apparently some people want to get their hands on it as soon as possible.
The Google voice app that was mysteriously rejected from the Apple store for recreating functionality already seen on the iPhone was pulled by a request from AT&T. I think the FCC will have something to say about that when they give AT&T a well deserved whoopin!
Apparently Apple is working in tandem with the Australian Customs Service to stop the flooding of fake iPhones into Australia. Someone has to explain to me why you would get a fake iPhone. We're the only country in the world in which the iPhone is available on ALL major carriers. Oh well!
Considering that Apple is a company that keeps everything close to the chest many graphic designers and creative type people find it therapeutic to create Apple concept models. Here are 52 of them...enjoy!
