Apple is about to share their third quarter earnings with everyone in a few hours. Here's hoping that the release of new MacBook Pros, iPhone 3GS and a raft of other goodies has earned Apple enough moola to project a healthy profit.
Someone is trying to get rich quick. A small technology company is suing Microsoft, Apple and a whole bunch of other tech companies because apparently they invented the touch screen. In other news...i'm suing the descendants of Issac Newton cause I came up with the theory of gravity...well...prove that I didn't!
Microsoft has released an update for Office Mac 2008. It improves speed, scrolling and custom animation and is available now through your Microsoft Software Update. Now if only they'd fix Messenger so it's not ten years behind the Windows version.
Another program that just got an update is Skype. Improvements include screen sharing, mood messages and hiding profile pics from other users.
Universal has announced that they're including iPhone features for their upcoming Blu-Ray films. So if your Blu-Ray player is connected to the net then you can control and interact with extras on your phone by downloading an app. Sounds great...except who really thinks that Blu-Ray will be around for much longer?
As Mac fans we're always faithful. But how does one get converted? Some (like me) are converted through their hatred at Micro$oft and the general Windows system but others are converted through their mothers. Turns out that the Apple retail stores are designed to attract 'ordinary' members of society to experience the joy that is Mac.
Turns out that Apple and RIM have pretty much dominated the smartphone market with a 35% market share. Well who the hell didn't see that one coming? With more and more people buying smartphones it seems that their dominance will continue to grow.
Apple is working on improving the iPhone GPS by collecting the data of their drivers. In a patent filed last year the company demonstrated that by collecting information from its drivers they could improve the real-time accuracy of their trip. It's unknown if the patent will work in tandem with the TomTom and other GPS apps or if Apple will be releasing it by themselves.
