• jobsceoThere's a new mobile OS on the horizon, and it's called the ELSE INTUITION. Furthermore, it looks as though it's Linux based - but for some strange reason people seem to confuse the terms "Linux" and "open-source" for reasons unbeknownst to me. Personally I'd mark this one down as hugely overhyped, but at least they're not labelling this one the next "iPhone-killer", right?

Remember how I was harping on about the Apple obsolete lists last Friday? This morning's excellent follow-on to that is Larry Magid's 1984 review of the very first Macintosh. It's awesome to see how far we've come, and even this little glimpse into Apple's turmoil past is enough to get those geek-buds tingling.

Slide To Play has a must-read article for any iPhone UI designer even thinking about making games (with the exception of Firemint, of course - those chaps seem to have iPhone UI controls down pat). Among other things, the article showcases some of the best, worst, and downright ugly UI controls for games on the iPhone.

Video recording on the 3GS is great and all, but don't you wish there was some kind of basic editing tool on your iPhone? You know, adding titles, transitions, and so on? It seems you prayers have been answered with the arrival of ReelDirector, an app that lets you do all that and more.

SpringSorter is a app for those among us who have jailbroken our iPhones. Its premise is simple - it automatically sorts the apps on our homescreens based on how often we use them. I can't say for sure how this will go with our eidetic memories, though.

Now that all of you have got your Kindles, Amazon has got one more trick up it's sleeve (besides the international discount thing) - Kindle Reader software for Mac. Yes, you too can now have your copy of Dan Brown's latest and eat it too. If you're so inclined.

Google Chrome is now available for Mac. Okay, so it's still the developer preview, and okay, it's still a little unstable. However, it's now official - and that means something. I think.

Apple may have disbanded the ZFS crew, but they're not looking to throw in the towel with regards to filesystems just yet - as this job listing shows, they're now looking for a full-time File System Engineer at Cupertino, with preferred experience in both gdb and dTrace. Call me crazy, but I don't know anyone like that. Maybe I'm just not geeky enough.

I've been trawling CreativeApplications.net for a while now, and all I'm finding are these crazy, quirky, designer-y apps that don't seem to do a whole lot. Take Coloroll, for example. The CA.net description says "simple but beautiful color matching game", and I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

Lastly this morning are 30 stunning Apple concept designs, including every mock-up of the rumoured iPhone "4G" that we were supposed to see earlier this year. Look how that turned out, eh? But seriously - from the TriBook to the HiPod, IRing, and iLight (yes, I kid you not on those last two), this actually is the most comprehensive collection of Apple concepts I've ever seen.

The Barracuda is a common HD in these machines, I'd do an SMC reset which should settle the fans down. Also check that all fans are operating properly/plugged
