So there's this phone, right, and it's called the iPhone. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but in this place called OS-TRAY-YA it apparently holds 21% of the smartphone market share, sitting pretty behind Nokia. That's pretty good for a phone that's only been out a year and a bit, right? Right? If you're a budding iPhone app developer with lots of web-based content, or even have your own webapp, then the newly released TapLynx is for you. From what I've read, it's basically a wrapper for your website which will take all your web content and put it into an iPhone app. Created by NewsGator (yes, the NetNewsWire NewsGator), it's a somewhat sneaky way of making apps for your iPhone.
The iPhone Blog tell us all about piracy on the App Store. Using some stats from Pinch Media (yes, that Pinch Media), the pretty graph shows how many devices are jailbroken in each country. Being jailbroken is one thing, but being jailbroken and pirating apps is another.
You may have heard of Wi-Fi direct, you may have not. Anyway, Apple have jumped on that particular bandwagon like flies to honey. Can anyone say "massively multiplayer iPhone LANs"?
I like to consider myself as a "casual gamer" - someone who enjoys their games without being too serious. I'm also in luck, because one of the best casual games ever is coming to the iPhone sometime soon. If you haven't heard of World of Goo, it's available for multiple platforms, so you don't have any excuse.
You've played it on your video games console of choice, now Need For Speed: Shift is coming to the iPhone. Slide To Play take a look.
You've probably never heard of iFrames before - that's okay, neither had I. What's really interesting is that Apple's own iMovie now supports this obscure format, used only by two recent Samsung cameras.
SuperDuper! 2.6.2 was recently released, and to quote Gruber, "it's not often that a minor point upgrade comes with so many new features and enhancements".
If you're as big a fan of bookmarklets on the Mac (and iPhone) as I am, then you just found your new favourite website: Marklets. It's pretty much a collection of awesome bookmarklets.
I'm not sure how long this has been there, but there's now a special section on the Apple website that tells users all about apps. It's mostly app recommendations, and like any good advertising, presents itself with some ultra-cool javascript effects and other assorted Apple goodness.
