• Steve_Jobs_1Has something earth-shatteringly important happened over the last couple of days, or is it just me? There seems to be an absolute abundance of iTablet rumours floating around, starting off with the tablet that will revolutionise the print media industry, redefine print media, and bring world peace to all.

We all know it's going to dominate the industry, but if it's going to "revolutionise the print industry", it needs to go head to head with the best of them - the Amazon Kindle. Now, obviously this is a little hard as there aren't any concrete facts to go on, but is the fabled iTouchTablet Pro a true Kindle killer?

Of course, for all that to happen we need to actually believe that there is such a thing as an "Apple tablet" - fake Steve tells us why keeping the fabled iTabletPod is such a closely-guarded secret.

The rumour mill has one extra thing to say this morning, and it's the fact that there could possibly be iMac and Mac Mini refreshes in the next couple of weeks.

Apple have acquired a mapping company that deals heavily in points-of-interest and other map additions. Whether this actually means anything or not is anyone's guess - look where the purchase of PA Semi has got them, huh? What do they have to show for their $280 million from that, huh? What does this mean for the relations with Google?

One of the Finer Things in Mac is the fact that you can lock your screen from your menu bar, and without using any extra addons to do so. Apparently the functionality is built right into Snow Leopard, so if you've ever wanted a way to lock your screen easily, I recommend you check this tip out.

Apparently those crazy Americans think a 30% call failure rate on the iPhone is "within acceptable limits", and with AT&T's crappy network, it's no surprise. There's a way to find out how many dropped calls you've had on the forums, but isn't Telstra worth the price premium of the other telcos?

Did you know Preview in Snow Leopard actually got a pretty large feature upgrade? Apart from now being able to import images from your scanner (signalling the end of those crappy third-party scanner apps), it can now import content from your iPhone.

Gizmodo review the 13" HP Envy - it's almost like HP were trying to copy the unibody Macbook Pro with this one. However, a "Macbook Pro killer" it ain't - as an aside, what's with all the violence? Why do gadgets have to kill one another? Where's the love?

It's Friday, so here's something entirely unrelated to the world of Macs - tiny, easy-to-build weapons to annihilate your office boredom. Literally. What are you waiting for - go get that sucker!

The Barracuda is a common HD in these machines, I'd do an SMC reset which should settle the fans down. Also check that all fans are operating properly/plugged
