Twitterlator Neue is a gorgeous Twitter client for the iPhone that was recently updated to include push notifications powered by Boxcar. What's interesting is that the push notifications are available as an in-app purchase for $1.99 a year, but whether that's worth it or not might depend on how much you love Tweetbot.
According to a few places, there's a mounting argument for the case that Apple's iMessage is killing off SMS as we know it. IMessage in itself is pretty great, as it doesn't care which carrier you're on —*so long as you have an iOS 5 device and an active data connection, you're all set.
