Apple opened its second Queensland store today to much fanfare at the region's largest shopping centre, Chermside. Featuring a unique twin-entryway shopfront the store boasts the widest single pane of glass in the southern hemisphere, unrivalled even by Apple's Sydney "significant store". The word of free shirts and shiny gadgets must have gotten out to the people of Brisbane as a cast of thousands turned out for the event.

To use Apple's own terms, the store is four tables wide and incredibly deep. So deep in fact that there is very little storage space at the rear of the store. When a large item is purchased, there are runners who will bring stock from a nearby store-room to the shiny, shiny store and into your greasy, greasy mitts.

You can check out people's photos of the event in our forums here, and chat about your experience here. Forum member Nodeblue has crafted a great video chronicling the build up and opening of the store and is available after the break.
