• Apple vs. Woolworths in the Battle of the Fruit Shaped Logo

    woolies

Yep, you read that right - Apple, the fruit company we all love, are taking Australian Woolworths, the company that sells actual fruit, to court, because their new styled W that looks like an apple, looks too much like Apple's apple and the fact that Woolworths slaps their logo on anything, could one day lead to a Woolworths branded computer. The Age has the full report.

Apparently, less than 5% of these actual claims make it to court, so it could just be a nothing situation, but it's interesting none the less, as it involves a relatively large Australian company. (cheers to Donnie Darko on the forums for the heads up on this story)

There isn't one... You need to understand the way the core of OS X works before you begin to understand why it doesn't need AV and that even if it did

What are the minimum 'must-have' plugins for 10.9.4 to function on the web?

Integrating VLC into your web browser is haphazard at best and I wouldn't recommend it. VLC works as a standalone player that you can play anything in

I've installed VLC into the App folder and have its icon in the dock where it stubbornly refuses to acknowledge anything from the 'net, or more likely

    Overall not bad.
I'll admit it took me a while to get used to the flat icons in IOS and will be the same adjustment in OS X
