Some of you may have noticed you're having issues with the battery on your phones draining particularly quickly while others may be wondering what all the fuss is about because you're experiencing perfect battery life. ...

The iPad a really great presentation tool. It's smaller than a laptop, it's lighter, you can go wireless, and the apps available to create & deliver presentations are now very solid (Keynote, Perspective, Prezi & many more). However, one of the big barriers at the moment to going iPad-only is the hookup. There's nothing worse than arriving at a conference room, boardroom or classroom, and not being able to get your screen to play nice with their projector or TV.

Do that enough times, and suddenly you're lugging your laptop in your bag (as well as the iPad) as your don't-look-like-a-dickhead-in-front-of-strangers Plan B. Nobody wants that.

So, how exactly do I get my iPad screen to that TV or projector? Well you've got a few options, and they all have their pros and cons. Here's a toolkit that hopefully covers a wide variety of possible scenarios, so you can take your iPad to your next presentation with confidence.

Hey, Apple: it's time to stop crippling third party apps.

It's something I've been thinking about for a few days now. It's nothing new, and people have been talking about it ever since great replacements for average default apps have been appearing on the App Store: Sparrow+ is a jailbreak ...

Just how good is the iPhone 5 display? Anandtech took a colorimeter to the iPhone 5 to find out, and they found the display to be amazingly accurate colour-wise, as well as producing some of the best numbers they've ever seen. The real question is: if this is just a standard panel from the likes of ...

Here in Australia, telco access is pretty straightforward, but if you're visiting the USA, how do you know if your phone will work there? And on which network? With the iPhone 5 and LTE, things get even more complicated. Even if you are not visiting the USA any time soon, the differences between Australian (and the rest of the world really) and American wireless networks is quite interesting. It's also incredibly nerdy. ...

Maps rage rages on this morning, with John Gruber explaining some of the political reasons behind Apple's change to their own mapping system. But ordinary consumers couldn't care less about the cat-fight between Google and Apple, they just want their maps to work; Google is apparently working on a Maps ...

You're likely sick of reading reviews by this stage, and would much prefer to play with your own iPhone, but Ars Technica's review of the iPhone 5 is a pretty good read and even has Skee-Lo references in the title, so props to them for that.

If you're after something a little more detailed ...

"If you see a stylus, they blew it" SJ

If you are going to review an iPad stylus, it's almost customary to reference this quote - so now I have done so, we can move on. The kinds of advanced note taking and drawing apps that have appeared for the iPad didn't even exist when Steve Jobs said it. And the unique design of the GoSmart certainly didn't either. It's quite likely that he would have appreciated the smart thinking that has gone into it just I have very quickly come to.

I'm embarrassed to admit we have 3 iPads in a household of 2 adults and a toddler. Before you ask, the toddler in question doesn't have her own iPad, but my wife has made the point of splitting her work and home iPad's as her office installs some work related mobile device management software on the iPad and she didn't want any questions about her personal choice in applications that included Dora, the Wiggles, Dorothy the Dinosaur and other Toddler related applications. ...

Apple announced earlier today that iPhone 5 sales over the first weekend have topped five million. You'll remember that the first 24 hours of iPhone 5 pre-orders garnered Apple two million sales, so five million is still a pretty impressive number. What's more, over 100 million iOS devices have been ...
