The big news this morning is that Apple has begun to roll out Apple Watch reservations and pick ups in select countries, including Australia. Now when you head to the buy now page there is an option asking “Interested in buying in store?” and a link to check reservation availability at your chosen store. With the Watches now able to picked up in store shipping times have also changed to 1-3 days it seems for most models.

You might recall that cable maker Monster launched a lawsuit against Beats Electronics and Apple back in January, related to their previous work with Beats. Whilst that case is still waiting to be heard 9to5Mac have picked up on a Wall Street Journal report that Apple has informed Monster LLC that they will not be renewing the companies MFI status for its cables. It seems Apple was quite straight forward about the reasons for not renewing with its lawyers telling Monster that as a result of the lawsuit the two companies no longer benefited each other.

Now that developers have got their hands on the first beta of iOS 9, they have begun poking around in the code. From what they have found it seems that there are indications that a new so called iPad Pro may be coming and it may feature screen resolution of 2732 x 2048. As Macrumors note that would give a 264 PPI, the same as the existing Retina iPad screens. Another developer had earlier discovered that the iPad on screen keyboard could scale to a larger size.

With Apple entering the music streaming game there has been a focus on just what it would be paying the labels. Re/code have got a confirmation from Robert Kondrk the Apple executive who negotiated the deal. After some reports suggested the figure might be around 58 cents in the dollar, it has been clarified that Apple will pay 71.5 percent to the labels in America and slightly more elsewhere with an average of 73 per cent. However Apple will not pay anything during the initial free three month trial period.

That is all the news today (and in fact yesterday) so enjoy the rest of your Wednesday MacTalkers.
