Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac has been hitting his sources up again and this time has an exclusive on upcoming changes to the Genius bar and the way it works for appointments. The high level overview is that walk up customers will now have their issue logged and assigned a priority. They will then provide a phone number and be contacted on. The customer will receive three texts, one confirming an appointment and likely wait time, one advising the customer to head back to the store and a final message to say their technician is ready and where to find them in the store.

Apple has been back on the acquisition trail, this time with reports suggesting they have acquired Camel Audio. Camel Audio are an instrument and effect plug-in maker. Macrumors notes that Camel Audio switched of downloads from its website on 8 January 2015.

If numbers are your thing then we have some more for you. IDC has released its latest report on the smartphone market and which reveals that Apple and Android now account for 96.3% of the market combined. Apple has 19.7% share compared to Android with its 76.6% share. Growth wise it was a pretty big win for Apple, with their year on year growth of 46.1% against Android and its 26.6% growth. Whislt it is tempting to say how bad those numbers must be for Microsoft, they did actually see year on year growth of 21.6%. Of course that actually only translates to a 2.8% market share.

Despite all their various battles, Samsung and Apple continue to do business together. Samsung is now reported to be the supplier of the advanced DRAM memory chips for the next generation of iPhones. According to the Korea Times, via Macrumors, Samsung would supply up to half the chips.

With the Watch launch fast approaching, many are asking how many apps we will see at launch. Apps of course are seen are a big part of giving the Watch appeal. The latest rumour as told by Cult of Mac is that there may be up 100,000 aps at launch. That rather large, and for me overly optimistic number, comes from Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities research. Trip also makes the bold prediction Apple will sell 42 million units by the end of December.

Overnight Apple marked what would have been Steve Jobs 60th Birthday and to mark the occasion Tim Cook tweeted ôRemembering Steve, who would have turned 60 today. "The only way to do great work is to love what you do.".

With those words of Steve in our minds, lets head out into Wednesday and hopefully you will be doing something you love to do.
