• Melbourne to host Connect 2014

Melbourne will play host to the Connect 2014 ICT exhibition next year – a new technology exhibition and conference program for both the technology industry and consumers.

Announced by the Victorian Minister for Technology Gordon Rich-Phillips, Connect 2014 will run from 13 to 15 March and examine high speed broadband, cloud computing and the ever-increasing technological connectivity of individuals.

While the exhibition seeks to provide businesses with a better understanding of technology expansion, connectivity and applications, Rich-Phillips believes there will be plenty for consumers as well.

“It also provides consumers with an opportunity to get hands-on access to a wide array of next generation gadgets and upcoming products before they hit the marketplace,” Rich-Phillips said.

“In addition to an exhibition, the event will feature six strategic business conferences, which will explore themes such as connectivity, supply chain management, mobile workforce applications for smarter living, entertainment, next generation medical devices and next generation learning.

“Connect 2014 will have technology specific zones that showcase related solutions and topical programming in one location,”said Rich-Phillips.

The Connect 2014 exhibition will be trade-only attendees for the first two days and will be open for the public on 15 March.
