I just need something clarified. I have 20 days left on my .Mac account before it expires. I just purchased a new. Mac box from my local Apple reseller. If I go straight on the .Mac website and renew the account with the activation code, will I miss out on 20 days? Or will I have 256 + 20 days left before I need to renew again?

If it doesn't answer your question, just e-mail Apple :)

Yeah, I looked there first. no obvious answer. And on the .Mac forum, no one has asked this question. In fact on that foumn they seem to ask about anything BUT .Mac (e.g. Where do I get Mac OS 9?).

It might be different for me, as I got my reactivation code through work last year...but mine was 365 days from the date I renewed, so I lost about 14 days or so (which sucks).

I'd hold out until a day or two before you need to renew it.

(Funnily enough, mine expires tonight...and I'm still waiting on my code. They keep the accounts on record for 60 days though).

Cheers,

Ahh, you must work for a reseller.

That sux that it starts from the day you renew it. I can just see me waiting until the very last day I have to do it, then forgetting and losing everything.

Funny, I must be thinking in computer numbers originally saying a year has 256 days. lol
