Just had a kernel panic on my new shiny and was trying to understand what caused it. So I opened up Console and I get:

Can anyone help me understand this?

Are you running on a network account? Maybe you're running software update and it's trying to get updates from your server rather than from apple.com.

What do you mean by "network account"? I just plugged it in at the office network.

Is this why it caused the kernel panic?

Thanks

I'm not anywhere near an expert, more of a diddy user lol but to me it looks like adium crashed and took the machine with it.

I'm probably wrong though.

I think it is the new dodgy 7-port usb hub that I got recently that is not playing nice with the usb ethernet adapter and Adium.

Now how can I sus out which is the culprit?

I have done so far:
1) turn on mac without any usb devices plugged it -> after booting and logging in I plug in the usb hub only then the usb ethernet adapter.

2) turn on mac with the usb hub plugged in

Both 1) and 2) resulted in a kernel panic shortly after I start Adium (and sometimes doesn't)

Help!
